Burgundy & Brew Booster Bash – April 17th
GAINESVILLE, FL – Put on your favorite team jersey and come to the inaugural Burgundy & Brew Booster Bash on Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 3-6 pm at Tower 24 Center, 2440 SW 76th Street, Gainesville, Florida to support locals sports programs. The event, the first of its kind organized by the Oak Hall Athletic Boosters Club, will feature craft beers and fine wines as well as locally created food specialties from area restaurants.
“The Booster Club supports our programs by providing funding to keep our facilities in tip top condition,” said Oak Hall athletic director Jeff Malloy. “Oak Hall is a leader in youth sports programming and its facilities are used to serve youth from all over Alachua County. We also have an extensive summer camp program that brings campers throughout the community to our campus to enjoy dynamic and enriching programs.” This spring, Oak Hall will host district championships in softball, baseball, lacrosse and track and field as well as provide facilities for the Alachua County track and field meet and the Oak Hall Invitational.
Jill Stirt, co-chair of the Booster Bash, explained why this event to raise funds is so important to the program. “Sports offer so many learning experiences for a young person, such as perseverance, leadership, tolerance, sportsmanship, discipline and mental and physical toughness. It also promotes a sense of community and school spirit among students and parents.”

Four imported and two domestic wines, including red and white selections, will be offered.
