Enjoy Tipples New White Wines During This Hot Florida Summer

Bedrock Wine Company is an itsy-bitsy winery making wine in a converted chicken coop. Fruit from only the most excellent vineyard sites is hand pitch-forked into the destemmer, fermented in open top redwood and stainless vats using only native yeasts, and are manually basket pressed by winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson into the sexiest oak from the coldest French forests.  The 2009 Cuvee Caritas Proprietary White is a blend dominated by Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Interestingly, the Semillon comes from the famed Monte Rosso Vineyard and is put through malolactic fermentation. The Sauvignon Blanc had its malo blocked. It offers up wonderful honeyed melon, orange rind, tropical fruit and lanolin notes. The oak is hiding in the background, and the wine possesses good acidity, beautiful purity and zesty acids that provide a laser-like precision. 92 Points Robert Parker – Wine Advocate

The Jayson Chardonnay is made with the same premium methods that produce their Pahlmeyer wines.  They do not grow or purchase additional fruit for the Jayson wines.  Rather, all of their grapes are grown and vinified for the Pahlmeyer wines.  After winemaker Erin Green selects the Pahlmeyer blends, she composes from the remaining barrels the Jayson Chardonnay along with their other Jayson wines.  As a result, the Jayson wines offer exceptional quality and value. Jayson wines are named after our founder,Jayson Pahlmeyer, and are like Jayson himself: big, fun, approachable and “very good looking.” The2009 Jayson Chardonnay is pale yellow-green in color.  Composed of both Napa Valley and Sonoma Coast fruit, it reveals kiwi, melon, tangelo and lemon-lime curd with an underlying flintiness and minerality.  Tropical fruit flavors come through on the luscious palate, balanced by a crisp acidity

Jaffurs Wine Cellars is dedicated to producing great Rhone varietal wines with a new-world independence. Our wines -Syrah, Grenache, Petite Sirah, Viognier, and Roussanne – are among the best. Owner/winemaker Craig Jaffurs, produced his first professional wines during the 1994 harvest. All of their wines are carefully made in small lots. Only about 3500 cases are produced each year – production is limited. The 2009 Jaffurs Viognier, Santa Barbara County is again classic viognier in the Condrieu vein. This wine has great acidity and correct varietal aromatics. It combines the fruit from two vineyards: Refugio Vineyard fruit (23%) provided a lighter, floral-peach, mineral element to the wine. Bien Nacido Vineyard fruit (77%) adds body, glycerin, acid, and a burst of tropical and peach aromas. It was fermented in neutral, French barrels. (762 cases produced)
