Bodegas Volver Triga Alicante – Is This The Next Clio?
92 Points International Wine Cellar – “Explosive black and blue fruit aromas are complicated by notes of licorice, Indian spices and floral oils. Rich and expansive but showing unlikely finesse thanks to bright acidity. Sweet blueberry and cassis flavors stain the palate and linger on a very long, intensely spicy, focused finish. Australian winemaker Chris Ringland consults here.”
Bodegas Volver Triga Alicante – A new collaboration between Jorge Ordonez, Chris Ringland, and Bodegas Volver. Triga is 85% Monastrell/15% Cabernet. “For millennium, the rugged hills of Alicante have been home to our vineyards. The Phoenicians were the first to grow grapes in this harsh environment, characterized by poor rocky soil and an arid climate. In Roman antiquity, the word Triga referred to a chariot team of three. Today, it refers to the three fossilized limestone mountain ranges that surround the vineyards that influence and shape this extraordinary wine: Las Sierras de Salinas, Sierra de la Sima, and La Sierra de Umbria.” – Winery[product id=”1227″]
