The Featured Wines
2014 Justin Sauvignon Blanc
“Crisp with ripe lemon, green apple, peach and guava on the entry. Chamomile flower comes toward the mid-palate along with a fine mineral texture that adds a depth to the wine’s clean palate. The finish is fresh with lingering citrus and herbal notes.”
2013 Justin Chardonnay
“Aromas of lemon pie, ripe peach, golden apple, toasted butterscotch with a subtle clove accent. Crisp, medium-plus body with lemon and ripe yellow apple flavors on entry, and peach and lemon thyme toward the mid-palate. A clean, long finish with butterscotch, spice and citrus.”
2013 Justin Cabernet
“Aromatic with ripe black cherry, blackcurrant and berry fruit with vanilla, cinnamon and subtle dried fall leaf accents. Classic cabernet with moderate plus blackcurrant and cherry fruit and baking spice flavors on the entry. Sweet tobacco and savory herbal notes arrive on the mid palate, along with beautifully balanced tannins that provide a structure that supports the wine through its perfectly balanced, clean finish.”
2012 Justin Savant
“Big, bold and fun, but with exquisite table manners. A wonderfully balanced melding of cabernet sauvignon and syrah.”
2012 Justin Justification
“Aromas of red and black cherry, black currant, and ripe strawberry fruit with cola, coffee, dark licorice and vanilla spice accents. The wine full bodied with currant, cherry, and strawberry along with dark black currant on the entry. Sweet tobacco, mineral, and herbal notes on the mid-palate with licorice and vanilla spice. ”
2012 Justin Isosceles
“Bright, deep ruby/purple core going to medium intensity at the rim.Intense aromas of ripe black cherry and blackcurrant with classic baking spice elements, sweet tobacco, cocoa, coffee, cedar and subtle mint. The palate is full-bodied with concentrated ripe black cherry, cassis and boysenberry jam on the entry, layered with toasted vanilla, cinnamon, and licorice spice. Classic cabernet savory notes emerge on the mid-palate with dark chocolate, coffee and minty accents. ”
2013 L’Aventure Optimus Estate
“The 2013 Optimus is the estate’s entry level blend, yet it always drinks well above its price point and is a perfect example of the style of the estate. Decadent black and blue fruits, graphite and smoky nuances all show here, and it has full-bodied richness, sweet tannin and terrific length. It should be another superb vintage for this cuvee, and it should shine on release and evolve for upward of a decade.”

2013 L’Aventure Cote a Cote
“The 2013 Cote a Cote plays in the same ballpark and offers up gorgeous black raspberry, violets, spring flowers and licorice in its medium to full-bodied, elegant and seamless personality. I love the overall purity here, and while it has loads of fruit, it’s perfectly balanced and has sound underlying structure. It’s another wine that will drink nicely on release, yet also evolve gracefully.”

2013 L’Aventure Estate Cuvee
“The 2013 Estate Cuvee is similar to the blend of the 2004 and is 43% Syrah, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Petite Verdot. Dense, concentrated and powerful, it offers knockout aromas and flavors of cassis, black cherries, flowers and charcoal that flow to a full-bodied, seamless and perfectly balanced wine that will have two decade or more of longevity. While I think 2012 was a slightly more successful vintage than 2013 for this estate, this should certainly be up there with the 2012 and it will be interesting to follow the two vintages as they evolve.”
