The Featured Wines

Gosset Brut Excellence – France – Champagne
92 Points Wine Spectator – “Refined and creamy, with delicate acidity that finds fine balance with the layers of poached apple and pear, lemon cake, ground ginger, smoke and almond cream flavors. Very elegant.”

2003 Schramsberg Reserve  – California – Calistoga
92 Points Wine Spectator –
“Rich and full-bodied, with aromas of baked apple, ginger and brioche and layered flavors of cinnamon, delicate cherry and vanilla spice that end on a crisp, vibrant note.”

2010 Mollydooker Enchanted Path – Australia
94 Points Wine Advocate – “Blended of 65% Shiraz and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2010 Enchanted Path was matured for 12 months in 85% new oak (97% American and 3% French). Very deep purple-black colored, it gives notes of ripe cassis and black cherry compote over hints of smoked bacon, dark chocolate, espresso, cedar and cloves. Very full bodied, densely packed and opulent in the mouth, it has a medium level of grainy tannins, very crisp acidity and a long finish with some mintiness coming through. .”

2012 Cade Napa Valley Cabernet – California – Napa Valley
92 Points Wine Advocate – “The opulent, fleshy, sexy, consumer friendly 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses a dense ruby/purple color as well as oodles of blackcurrant fruit intermixed with floral and blueberry notes. Lush and plush, it can be drunk now or cellared for 10-15 years, although such well-balanced and forward wines as this can sometimes age two decades or more.”

2010 Robert Foley Cabernet – California – Napa Valley

2012 Shafer One Point Five Cabernet – California – Napa Valley
94 Points Wine Advocate – “The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon One Pint Five is a big-time winner, a blend of almost all Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Malbec and Petit Verdot. The wine has an opaque bluish/purple color, almost indigo, and is full-bodied with dense chocolaty crème de cassis notes, licorice and a touch of minerality. The wine has well-integrated wood, is full and seems balanced and rich enough to age for two decades or more.”

2013 Bodega El Nido Clio – Spain – Jumilla

2009 Gramercy Cellars Cabernet – Washington State – Columbia Valley
92 Points Wine Advocate

2012 Luce della Vite Toscana – Italy – Tuscany
91 Points Wine Spectator – “Rich and fleshy, this red exudes black currant, blackberry and sweet baking spice flavors, with a layer of dense, refined tannins underneath. Fresh and elegant overall, with fine harmony and a lingering aftertaste. Merlot and Sangiovese.”

2010 Silverado Solo Cabernet – California – Napa Valley
93 Points Wine Advocate – “Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the inky/purple-colored 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Solo offers up sweet cassis fruit notes intermixed with kirsch, licorice and spice. Elegant, medium to full-bodied, pure and rich, this impressive effort reveals good acidity, vibrancy and freshness. It should drink well for 15-20 years.”

2012 Rodney Strong Rockaway Single Vineyard Cabernet – California – Alexander Valley/Sonoma County
94 Points Wine Spectator – “A remarkable wine that exhibits powerful flavors of ripe currant, blackberry and cherry along with pleasing notes of cedary cigar box, dried herb, green olive and tea. Ends with firm, dusty tannins and fine length. Drink now through 2028.”

2010 Chateau Leoville Barton  – France – Bordeaux – Saint-Julien
100 Points Wine Enthusiast – “This magnificent, solid wine is initially severe, with its tannins dominating, yet it already reveals a full array of black fruits. Very dense and concentrated, this is a wine that’s even better than the chateau’s legendary 2005. The structure tells of its extraordinary aging potential: Don’t even attempt to drink this for the next 10 years. Cellar Selection

2013 Caymus Cabernet  – California – Napa Valley

2012 Peter Michael Cabernet Au Paradis  – California – Oakville
Wine Spectator #1 Wine of 2015 – 96 Points Wine Spectator – “Deliciously pure and supple, with explosive dark berry and red berry flavors and a silky, polished texture. The tannins become more evident midway through, with a gravelly crushed rock profile that adds a dimension of dust and mineral. Drink now through 2030.”

Deep Breaths, Big Sips.
