Spencer Trappist Ale – Jack Tipple’s Year of Beer Challenge Week 2.46
This recipe was inspired by the traditional refectory ales known as patersbier (“fathers’ beer” in Flemish) in Belgium. These sessionable beers are brewed by the monks for their dinner table and are typically only available at the monastery. Spencer is a full-bodied, golden-hued ale with fruity accents, a dry finish and light hop bitterness. The beer is unfiltered and unpasteurized, preserving live yeast that naturally carbonates the beer in the bottle and keg and contributes to the beer flavor and aroma.

In honor of that we have designed a program to help you try new beer and perhaps revisit some old beers you haven’t had in quite a while. For Jack Tipple’s Year of Beer Challenge we will feature a different beer every week. If you purchase that beer on the given week we will punch your card. Once you have completed 52 weeks of featured beers we will give you your choice of a Tipple’s Koozie or Tipple’s Pint glass and you will have your name added to our plaque on the wall and be immortalized in the annals of Tipple’s History.
