Robert Parker 91 Points: A blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petite Sirah and 8% Malbec, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Lion Tamer is a little closed to begin, giving way to earthy scents of tilled black soil, charcoal, truffles and crushed rocks over a core of warm cassis, plum preserves, cigar box and camphor. Full-bodied and densely packed with juicy black fruits and earthy sparks, it has a lovely line of freshness and a firm level of grainy tannins to support, finishing long with a minty kick.
Wine Enthusiast 91 Points: With 11% Petite Sirah and 8% Malbec in the blend, this is no shy undertaking. Robust, fleshy dark fruit flavors are enveloped by a voluptuous texture. Currant and toasted oak form the core of the midpalate as a hint of cigar comes into play on the finish.

Robert Parker 90 Points: The 2016 Proprietary Red The Lion Tamer has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and opens with notes of crushed black plums, blackberry compote and wild blueberries with hints of spice box, tobacco and dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with juicy black fruits plus plenty of spicy sparks, featuring a plush texture and great freshness supporting the long finish.
Wine Enthusiast 93 Points: This is a blend of 40% Malbec, 27% Zinfandel, 21% Petite Sirah, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and smaller amounts of Mourvèdre, Petit Verdot and Merlot. Together, they work to offer inviting elements of baking spice, cherry vanilla and a creamy palate of integrated tannins and toasted oak. The fleshy, lush feel benefits from a fresh backbone of acidity.
