2015 Tinto Negro Cabernet Franc

Perfumed violet aromatics, bright red fruit flavors, supple texture and a bright, mineral finish – limestone driven Cabernet Franc. The wine is aged for 7 months in used French oak.

As Halloween approaches and mischief is afoot, the name of this beer will be used often as an excuse for deeds done. This Belgian Golden Sour is aptly named since it is aged in the same bourbon barrels as DuClaw’s barley wine Hell on Wheels. That’s why Jack made it the beer of the week.

2014 Bogle Phantom Red Blend

Winemaker’s Notes: Phantom, Bogle’s mysterious apparition of ripe berry and relentless spice, returns to haunt wine lovers. Full of concentration and intensity, this wine will tease, tantalize and linger long after the last sip is gone. Wild berries and black pepper are framed by the influence of oak aging with baking spices and a hint of toasty vanilla. 42% Petite Sirah, 34% Zinfandel, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot

90 Points Wine Enthusiast: This is not your average red blend, because it has outstanding concentration, multiple layers of dark-fruit flavors and cedary, spicy nuances as well as a richly tannic texture. It will pair well with a grilled lamb chop, and should improve with a little age.

Retail: $22.99
On Sale Thru 10/31: $18.99

2016 Chateau de la Ragotiere Muscadet Sevre Et Maine Sur Lie
France-Loire (Pays Nantais)

Winemaker Notes: The old vines here give some concentration. More importantly, they give a great swath of ripe fruit that is so crisp and refreshing. Lemon and the lightest texture are lifted by intense acidity and a lively, fresh aftertaste. Pair with seafood, scallops, lobster, grilled fish, Asian food, or goat cheese.

92 Points Wine Enthusiast: Old vines, up to 60 years old, are the basis of this concentrated, ripe and intense wine. It is impressive and tightly wound, with layers of rich citrus fruit and a chalky texture. This is still a little young, so drink from 2018. Editors’ Choice. #72 Wine Enthusiast Top 100 of 2017

Retail: $14.99
On Sale Thru 10/24: $12.99

2015 Torbreck Cuvee Juveniles GSM
Australia-Barossa Valley

Winemaker Notes: Bold and seductive, this youthful, unoaked blend encapsulates all that is great in a pure, unseasoned wine. A lively, vibrant aroma of blackberry, violet and spice. A full, rich mid palate with a vivacity and energy that this blend always generates. Ripe, savory flavors of dark berry fruit and cassis, spiced cherries, minerals and succulent blueberry fruit all balanced with fresh acidity and a fine gentle tannin structure. Dense and vibrant, this wine is drinking superbly but as with its predecessors will greatly recompense those who choose to give it a few years in the cellar.

91 Points James Suckling: A fresh and clean red with sliced apple, strawberry and green tobacco. Medium body, crisp fruit. Hints of cedar and tea. Lovely length and deliciousness.

Retail: $24.99
On Sale Thru 10/24: $20.99
