Winemaker’s Notes: Present salmon tones, small bubbles and persistent care speak of their preparation. Captivating nose for perfect combination of aromas of yeast, toast, candied fruits and white flowers. The palate is intense, fresh and balanced acidity.
90 Points James Suckling: A rosé with plenty of dried fruit character and lemon undertones. Full body, bright acidity and a firm and lively finish. Excellent body.
On Sale Thru 11/7: $19.99
Winemaker’s Notes: Sourced from the Los Chacayes district in Mendoza’s high altitude Uco Valley, this wine is meant to showcase the intensely floral and mineral style of Cabernet Franc in the Uco Valley’s high altitude, limestone driven soils. Perfumed violet aromatics, bright red fruit flavors, supple texture and a bright, mineral finish – limestone driven Cabernet Franc. The wine is aged for 7 months in used French oak.
On Sale Thru 11/7: $13.99
As Halloween approaches and mischief is afoot, the name of this beer will be used often as an excuse for deeds done. This Belgian Golden Sour is aptly named since it is aged in the same bourbon barrels as DuClaw’s barley wine Hell on Wheels. That’s why Jack made it the beer of the week.
Winemaker’s Notes: Phantom Chardonnay entices with its rich layers. Green apple and pear transform into spicy flavors of freshly baked apple pie, while barrel fermentation imparts a creamy, luscious mouthfeel. French oak whispers sweet notes of vanilla and melted caramel.
On Sale Thru 10/31: $14.99
Winemaker’s Notes: Phantom, Bogle’s mysterious apparition of ripe berry and relentless spice, returns to haunt wine lovers. Full of concentration and intensity, this wine will tease, tantalize and linger long after the last sip is gone. Wild berries and black pepper are framed by the influence of oak aging with baking spices and a hint of toasty vanilla. 42% Petite Sirah, 34% Zinfandel, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot
90 Points Wine Enthusiast: This is not your average red blend, because it has outstanding concentration, multiple layers of dark-fruit flavors and cedary, spicy nuances as well as a richly tannic texture. It will pair well with a grilled lamb chop, and should improve with a little age.
On Sale Thru 10/31: $18.99
It’s the time in the year for pumpkins and falling leaves. Jack loves this time, but instead of carving pumpkins he would much rather drink them! This week choose your pumpkin and get a treat (punch) for the beer of the week.
Winemaker Notes: The old vines here give some concentration. More importantly, they give a great swath of ripe fruit that is so crisp and refreshing. Lemon and the lightest texture are lifted by intense acidity and a lively, fresh aftertaste. Pair with seafood, scallops, lobster, grilled fish, Asian food, or goat cheese.
92 Points Wine Enthusiast: Old vines, up to 60 years old, are the basis of this concentrated, ripe and intense wine. It is impressive and tightly wound, with layers of rich citrus fruit and a chalky texture. This is still a little young, so drink from 2018. Editors’ Choice. #72 Wine Enthusiast Top 100 of 2017
On Sale Thru 10/24: $12.99
Winemaker Notes: Bold and seductive, this youthful, unoaked blend encapsulates all that is great in a pure, unseasoned wine. A lively, vibrant aroma of blackberry, violet and spice. A full, rich mid palate with a vivacity and energy that this blend always generates. Ripe, savory flavors of dark berry fruit and cassis, spiced cherries, minerals and succulent blueberry fruit all balanced with fresh acidity and a fine gentle tannin structure. Dense and vibrant, this wine is drinking superbly but as with its predecessors will greatly recompense those who choose to give it a few years in the cellar.
91 Points James Suckling: A fresh and clean red with sliced apple, strawberry and green tobacco. Medium body, crisp fruit. Hints of cedar and tea. Lovely length and deliciousness.
On Sale Thru 10/24: $20.99
