    WINEMAKER NOTES: This week we are featuring 2 wines:  guests can explore a true Pinot Noir showdown between two regions through Siduri: the Willamette Valley bottling leans into elegance and restraint, offering bright red cherry, raspberry, and subtle earthy spice with a silky texture and lifted acidity—consistently scoring in the low-to-mid 90s in strong vintages—while the Santa Lucia Highlands bottling brings a richer, more powerful California expression, with darker fruit, cola, baking spice, and a fuller mouthfeel, typically landing around 90–93 points with standout vintages pushing higher; in short, it’s finesse vs. intensity—Oregon precision against California richness—both excellent, just a matter of what mood you’re in.

    WINEMAKER NOTES: A seductively floral, fruity and vibrant nose with a good lift of freshness and fruit. Crushed stones, blueberries, graphite, blue flowers and berries and a touch of white pepper. A combination of fruit and layers on the palate with fresh, mealy tannins that turn pretty chalky in the finish.

    Merryvale Vineyards - It has been far too long since we have been graced with these amazing wines.
    Jeff doesn't choose a single Winemaker tasting except when is is REALLY impressed. You will be too.

    The wines of Merryvale are inspired by the European sensibilities of René and Laurence Schlatter. Make no mistake; these are Napa Valley wines from hillside vineyards, meaning they’re powerful and concentrated. But the coolness of the sites in which they’re grown, and the work done in the winery to manage the tannins for approachability, creates wines with personality, texture, elegance and acidity. These wines are meant to age gracefully. For this reason, the Schlatters tend to hold their Cabernet Sauvignons longer prior to release, giving them time to develop as they rest in bottle. Again, it goes back to the culture of wine in which they were raised.

    Tickets are $50 and need to be purchased in advance ONLY by calling 352-672-6303; tickets will not be sold via any other channels - do NOT believe scammers! Make sure you can attend, as there are no refunds.

    A private chef will provide food pairing including a full selection of meats, cheeses, fruit, nuts, olives, & bread.
